Specialist Brick Restoration, Repointing & Traditional Building in London

At RD Build, we specialise in traditional brick restoration, repointing and construction across London. With a passion for preserving the character and heritage of London's historic buildings, we take pride in restoring Victorian, Edwardian and period properties to their former glory.

We understand the importance of using the correct traditional materials and techniques when working on older buildings. That's why we specialise in lime mortar, traditional pointing methods and carefully sourced reclaimed and indigenous bricks to repair, restore and enhance damaged brickwork while respecting the original character of each property.

Traditional Brick Restoration

Over time, exposure to the elements, inappropriate repairs and modern materials can take their toll on historic brickwork. At RD Build, we offer specialist restoration services designed to bring your property back to life.

Our services include:

Brick restoration and repair.

Removal of paint from original brickwork.

Removal of cement render and pebbledash.

Restoration of exposed and original brickwork.

Replacing damaged bricks with sympathetic reclaimed and traditional alternatives.

Lime mortar repairs and traditional masonry techniques.

Our aim is to uncover and restore the natural beauty of your property's original brickwork, allowing it to reach its full potential.

Traditional Lime Repointing

We specialise in a range of traditional pointing styles, carefully selected to complement the age, character and construction of your property.

Our pointing services include:

Weather-struck pointing.

Flush pointing.

Traditional lime pointing.

Repointing of Victorian, Edwardian and historic brickwork.

Where appropriate, we favour traditional lime mortar because of its breathability and flexibility. Unlike modern cement-based mortars, lime allows moisture to escape naturally and accommodates the subtle movement of older buildings. This helps protect the surrounding brickwork and maintain the long-term health of your property.

Traditional Brickwork & Additional Services

Our expertise extends beyond restoration and repointing. We also undertake a variety of traditional building and specialist masonry projects, including:

Traditional and modern brick wall construction.

Garden walls and boundary walls.

Bay rebuilds.

Extensions

Leadwork.

Victorian mosaic pathways and traditional paving.

Whether you're looking to restore an original feature, repair damaged masonry or create something entirely new, we approach every project with the same commitment to quality and craftsmanship.
